There is always a Rinji Matriarch - an ever-present ceremonial leader of the goblins. Right now, that matriarch is Tawa. She spends her days being carried from one ceremonial duty to another, giving her blessing to whatever the High Priests want her to.

Tawa frequently feels confined by her position as a figurehead and struggles to find ways to escape the rigid structure and formality of her life. She’s also quite lonely.

Using life magic, as Tawa does, comes at the price of aging the wielder. This effect is usually small and incremental, but Tawa is able to command much more power than the average goblin -- and so she is actually much younger than she looks.
